Meet the Team

Co-Chair
Emilia Belderbos
Emilia Belderbos is a contemporary jewellery business owner of ‘Emilia Belderbos’ and Gallery Manager of ‘The Art and Design Hub’ based on Telegraph Road in Heswall. She founded her jewellery business after graduating in Silversmithing and Jewellery from The Glasgow School of Art in 2024, returning to Heswall to establish her practice alongside her role at the gallery.

With experience across local businesses including Linghams and Karl Tatler, Emilia is passionate about creating collaboration between local businesses, artists and creatives.
Her jewellery celebrates individuality, confidence, and self-expression. Inspired by runway jewellery and fashion, Emilia creates bold statement pieces that explore colour, light, and reflection, encouraging wearers to express their authentic selves. Working with acrylic, gemstones, and metalwork, she combines contemporary materials with traditional techniques to explore identity, movement, and personal expression. Her pieces change with light, reflecting both their environment and the wearer’s evolving identity.

Emilia has exhibited locally and nationally, including at The Goldsmiths’ Centre Getting Started Spotlighting Exhibition, and is the 2025/26 Prestige Awards winner for Jewellery in the Northwest.
​
Outside her practice, she enjoys an active lifestyle and coffee, while also singing in a church choir, and travelling locally and internationally.

Co-Chair
Hayley Irons
Hayley is a marketing consultant with 20 years of marketing and advertising experience, working with great brands, clients and agencies along the way. HI Marketing Ltd was set up over 9 years ago & is going from strength to strength.

Hayley also has a wealth of experience within the health & dental industry, amongst many other industries and has successfully managed marketing campaigns boosting profiles of many private dental surgeries & health related companies all over the UK.
Currently giving some of her time to helping HBDA with their social media pages. Promoting fellow local businesses is so important to her, after all, dont we all want to live in a thriving and welcoming community!

She is friendly and personable, and will take the time to get to know her clients and their brands. Not only does this make working with Hayley fun and enjoyable, it also helps her to deliver the results that you need.
​
On a personal level, Hayley enjoys long walks with her family, including her 2 granddaughters and then visiting a Heswall coffee shop/cafe or restaurant to follow it up!

Trustee
Andrew Cain
Andrew has been active in their family business in Heswall for many years, developing Cain of Heswall to be the longest running Family business in Heswall. He has a strong commitment to volunteering in the local community with links to the Rotary club of Mid Wirral and Barnston Scout Group then to West Wirral District Scouts as Chairman.

He has been involved with the HDBA formerly Heswall Chamber of Trade for many years. He was Chairman in 1993-5 and acting Chair on many occasions. He has helped with many changes that the group has gone through to keep the association up to date and relevant to business styles of today.
​
He has said “we are the vital link between businesses in Heswall and the Local authority and other like minded organisations”. He oversaw the transition to electronic style communication to members and businesses in general.

Light Up Heswall Sub-committee
George Cain
George is the 4th generation of his family to work at Cain of Heswall. He has a varied role working in all aspects of the company.
George heads up the Christmas Lights subcommittee for the Business Association (Light up Heswall), in this roll he organises and fundraises for the display. During the winter months he can be spotted up a ladder with his team of resident volunteers installing, maintaing and removing the display.
George is an active member of the Business Association helping at events such as taste of Christmas and summer fetes and jubilee celebrations, he attends at the regular meetings.
In his spare time George likes the outdoors hiking, mountain climbing and trying out new water sports and swimming.

Committee
Jon Bion
Jon started Heswall Magazine in 2009. The magazine is circulated free to 16,000 homes and businesses in Heswall, Gayton, Pensby, Thingwall, Barnston, Brimstage, Irby, Thurstaston, Caldy and Thornton Hough. He is also the Editor of The Lake – a magazine distributed around the West Kirby/Hoylake area as well as working for a number of other businesses on marketing projects.
With a background in advertising, Jon spent a number of years working at sizeable agencies in
Liverpool and Chester for a number of clients including Bunzl Catering, Redrow Homes and TJ Hughes before becoming freelance in 2007.
​
He has been a committee member of the business association for a number of years and assists with HDBA promotion. He is also on the organising committee of Cool Heswall (an event designed to raise local awareness of climate change and our environment and its needs) as well as helping Trustee-run Heswall Hall with projects on a voluntary basis.
Away from work Jon is a poor but enthusiastic golfer and enjoys travelling, having visited over 30 countries.

Graphic & Website Design
Mark Fitzpatrick
Mark is the Creative Director at Hyena Design based in the heart of Heswall on Milner Road. With over 15 years in the design & marketing industry, Mark (AKA Fitzy!) has great knowledge in the industry as well as being pretty firmly established in the local area & beyond.

Hyena Design was established nearly 5 years ago & now helps & supports many businesses in the local area with their marketing needs.
​
Outside of work, Mark is a keen golfer and enjoys being a member at Heswall golf club. He also enjoys watching Heswall Football Club (his boyhood club) and is now a main sponsor for club he loves.

Treasurer
Adam Bullen
Adam has managed and influenced the numbers of organisations, large and small, for almost two decades. Since 2018 he has been running his own accountancy practice with a passion to see beyond the numbers, Adam loves working alongside his clients helping them to grow and achieve their goals.
ABCounting, Adam’s practice, has many local clients in Heswall, across the Wirral and beyond. Taking on the position of Treasurer for HDBA in 2020, Adam combines his aptitude for all things financial and a passion for supporting the local community.
He would love to claim that outside of work his main hobby is still snowboarding, but in reality in more recent years the focus has been regular DIY projects as well as a taxi service for his children’s hobbies!
